Studio Artics is the practice of Hanneke van de Pol, conceptual designer and creative director with twenty-five years of experience in brand identity, campaigns and visual communication, combined with a passion for art, design, architecture and history.
We work at the intersection of design, art and innovation. For municipalities, neighbourhoods and retail areas we design identities that not only work on paper, but also in the street. From art in public space to facade design, from signage to augmented reality routes.
From idea to clear strategy. We define the identity of a place and translate it into concrete principles for design and realisation.
Identity becomes visible. We develop a consistent visual language across signage, graphic design and spatial applications.
Strengthening a place from within. We integrate art as part of the overall concept, in tune with its context and audience.
Purposeful use of modern technology. We deploy tools such as AI and augmented reality where they genuinely enhance the experience of the whole.
The Modekwartier began as forgotten streets with empty premises between the city centre and the suburbs. Today it is a well-known creative district with studios, shops, cafés and visitors from across the country. That transformation does not happen by itself, it is made, layer by layer, through design, brand identity, street furniture, facades, events and augmented reality.
As designer and creative director working in the Modekwartier of Arnhem, I have helped build the visual identity and the physical experience of this neighbourhood. From dressing empty premises, designing the brand identity and image campaigns for the Modekwartier, organising the Nacht van de Mode (Night of Fashion), to designing the wayfinding from the city centre and the current AR route opening this year.
